What I saw was Miami pressure the ball on the perimeter to push our offense away from the basket. We couldn’t pass or drive inside without turning the ball over. Miami’s intense defense befuddled our offense and negated our height advantage.
I saw what you saw Bob. Our guards, as Coach K would say, "were knocked back" by Miami's physical defense. Both Roach and Proctor weren't allowed to get into their playmaking roles. That and some lazy passes led to turnovers. They have to be tougher going forward.
After hearing from trusted sources that the UNC win was celebrated like a much bigger milestone, I was prepared for this. Which, good for them, I guess, as that win likely goes down as the pinnacle of this season.
My win/loss expectations are out the window, I just hope to see some consistent fight from here on out. They need to learn to hate losing more than they enjoy winning.
Yup. I put the NCSU abomination squarely on Scheyer, and this one on the players. The ACC gifted Duke a soft late-season schedule that allows them to maximize momentum going into the ACC tournament, so now that everyone has had their mulligan, it's time to step up and show some pride. Saturday at UVA should be telling.
I’m tired of these Saturday/Monday combos, more suitable for NBA players than freshmen. But the postseason is a month away and if this team can’t handle these quick turnarounds (albeit minus the travel between) it will be a short one.
