Go Duke! Let’s fill the stands against UNC on 10/15. 😈 And not with UNC fans! 😂

“It was ugly at times,” winning coach Mike Elko said, “nice at times, really ugly at times. But we just kept competing.”

Two games into the season, that's not a bad place to be. Plenty of weaknesses to work on, as well as plenty of strengths to build on. The A&T game is coming at good time now, giving a great opportunity to do both.

Another nice summary, Jim. All the mistakes we made can be fixed - clearly this is a more athletic, hard hitting team than we’ve seen in a few years. My biggest concern is Charley Ham - not a good start to the season. Hopefully that last chip shot boosted his confidence.

Clearly this is a better coached team. Poor position coaching doomed Coach Cutcliffe, IMO. YMMV.

Playcalling didn't do them any favors, either..... at least not since 2015 on offense or 2018 on defense. Developmental programs like Duke cannot afford to get out-schemed and out-coached, particularly in the first half of P5 games, where at best talent and depth will be a push.

Kevin Johns had an outstanding gameplan that created just enough of an edge to withstand the inevitable counterpunch by a Northwestern roster that most observers though far superior to Duke's. Duke players deserve nothing less, and I'm excited to see what he serves up over the course of the season once teams start adjusting to what we put on film.

Great to watch the new Duke team go get a road win. The O and the D had moments that can be built on. I've been a Devil fan since the days of Bill Murray, Walt Rappold, and Gil Garner. I saw our guys whip heavily favored Arkansas ( with Lance Alworth/Bambi) in The Cotton Bowl. Let's keep the momentum going against the Aggies next Saturday !

Gutsy win for the Devils! Left too many easy points on the field in the third.

Duke won the turnover battle, which was key to winning the game. Big win for our Blue Devils.
