I have been a DUKE fan since 1971, when I enrolled as a freshman. I am so glad you wrote this article. I never knew what Jaylen Coleman and his teammates went thru GI graduate.

What a young man this kid is! I can remember guys in my frat starting out as a “bio-med” majors in the early 1970s. By their sophomore years they had changed their majors to English. My hat is off to Jaylen Coleman. This kid has intestinal fortitude and then some. I knew a couple of football players back in the early 70s. They were always worn out from practice and off season weight lifting. I always wondered how they got their homework done and passed their tests, even if was in “ rocks for jocks”.

He can give credit to his parents ( and I am certain they were instrumental in firming his character). Nonetheless, it wasn’t his folks doing his chemistry homework at 10:00 pm Somme Thursday night, with a big game coming up on Saturday. I’m amazed at how Jaylen Coleman trained and completed his “bio-med” degree. My hat is off to him. Thanks for bringing him to our attention, Jim.
