We’ve looked at Duke’s rich Olympic tradition, dating back to 1956. Now, we’ll switch to Paris and 2024.
Duke lists 20 current and former Duke athletes and coaches competing in Paris, including Morgan Pearson, whose inclusion makes no more sense in 2024 than it did in 2020. Pearson is a runner who spent one year at Duke and his final three years at Colorado.
Excluding Pearson only Jayson Tatum, Chelsea Gray, pole vaulter Brynn King, field hockey’s Leah Crouse and women’s basketball assistant coach Kara Lawson represent the United States. There are three Canadians, two Puerto Ricans, two Australians and single representatives of seven other countries.
Several non-hoopsters have legit chances of standing on the podium.
