Several ways to approach this.
In some sense we’re dealing with apples and oranges. Excluding the inaugural 1953-’54 season, the ACC has had 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20-game regular seasons. Is NC State’s 12-0 conference record in 1973 and 1974 better than Duke’s 19-1 mark in 2025? Or Clemson and Louisville’s 18-2 records this year?
Well, not by winning percentage. Of course, if my team plays one game and wins it and your team plays 100 games and wins 99, then my team has a better winning percentage.
Obviously, I’m exaggerating for effect.
And those 19 wins are an ACC record.
