Well, the NBA draft didn’t go as expected. Like it ever does.
But even with that proviso, I wasn’t expecting what we got.
Let’s start with the non-salacious stuff.
Jared McCain went to Philadelphia, with the 16th pick; about where we expected.
At first I thought this was a pretty good landing spot for McCain. The Sixers are built around 7-0 superstar Joel Embiid and 6-5 star Tyrese Maxey. The best way to maximize a 7-0 superstar is to surround him with floor-spacing shooters and floor-spacing-shooter is McCain’s super-power.
